I will describe the construction of a bilinear form on Weyl scalars, under which Kerr quasinormal modes are orthogonal. This property motivates the use of the product in perturbative calculations, mirroring the use of the inner product in quantum mechanics. I’ll describe progress in developing this perturbation theory, including aspects of metric reconstruction and applications.
